Community Values

Waystone’s goal is to create a space that fosters connection and belonging around a shared love for miniatures games.

We believe everyone deserves to experience the joy of our hobby without judgment—regardless of gender, experience level, sexuality, playstyle, disability, religion, race, or socioeconomic status. We are an LGBTQIA+ community. We strive to be anti-racist, and to respect everyone’s pronouns. Though we are grounded in our values, our space is meant to provide a reprieve from the churn of current political events and online conflict.

For example…

• We aim to be encouraging towards newcomers while also allowing them time and space to get comfortable at their own pace. 

• We celebrate one anothers’ autonomy, including choices about what games to play or who we play with, and value consent before engaging in any form of physical contact, photography, or handling one another’s belongings.

• We deeply value political engagement, but keep Waystone a place for people to rest and recharge by reserving debates and discussions for direct messages or in-person conversation.

• We recognize that even though we’re a space for adults, it isn’t a place for demeaning or pornographic language and imagery.

If something bothers you, or if something you’ve done is bothering someone else, it is always okay to talk, listen, and (if necessary) apologize. Waystone’s staff is also here to support.
